The creators of the film ‘El Mar, Mi Alma’ and the LP Headland soundtrack have collaborated on a new visual album centred on the Lennox/Byron coastline.

True Flowers from this Painted World is an emotive portrait and spacious soundscape that builds on traditional notions of landscape and seascape, combining gorgeous guitar layered compositions and captivating cinematic fragments. A hypnotic, meditative and spellbinding live experience.

Headland began in 2013 as a soundtrack to a collection of super8 film pictures depicting surfing and coastal culture in the 1970s. Contemporary footage by award winning filmmaker Stephen L. Jones ‘El Mar, Mi Alma’ (2012) overscores each composition for their second full-length release. This fine art collaboration is performed as a visual album, consisting of original musical scores played to projected film sequences.

True Flowers from this Painted World is on Thursday 1 March 2018 at Park Lane Theatre, Lennox Head. The show commences at 7.30pm and includes an intermission. Doors open at 6.30pm, with food and beverages available to purchase. The show is an all-ages event.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for concession and kids aged 12 to 17, and 11 and under are free (plus booking fees).
